We are dedicated to improving performance and reducing the health consequences caused by kit designed for men that affect women in the services such as military, fire & rescue, police and EMTs. Our Head of Operations and Co-Owner, Sarah Snyder-Kamen, a US Marine Corps veteran, played a key role in developing our specialist bra, designed specifically for servicewomen.
Our sports bra has undergone rigorous laboratory testing, not only in the world-renowned Research Group in Breast Health at the University of Portsmouth but also in real-world conditions by active-duty military personnel across the globe. We gathered detailed feedback and refined key features to meet the demands of women in service. One critical improvement is our padded, non-digging straps, designed to prevent nerve impingement and damage, an issue commonly faced by military women wearing heavy equipment.
At Tigers Eye, our mission goes beyond solving problems for serving women. We aim to educate the world on the health risks associated with inadequate breast support and challenge the perception that breast support is merely underwear. For women in military and emergency services, the right bra is essential equipment, enabling them to perform their duties at their best without health or injury risks.
Supporting Women on the Frontlines
Tigers Eye is proud to collaborate with Veteranka, a Ukrainian charity supporting female veterans and soldiers. Right now, female soldiers and combat medics on the Ukrainian frontlines are wearing Tigers Eye bras. Our founder, Rebeka Polgar, recently met with the inspiring women behind Veteranka, whose mission aligns closely with ours, driving equality for servicewomen.
Veteranka made history by developing the first armoured suit designed specifically for female bodies. Traditional military gear is built for male anatomy, failing to accommodate differences such as wider hips and breasts. This not only restricts movement but also leads to severe health issues. Some female soldiers even undergo breast reduction surgery to mitigate the pain caused by ill-fitting equipment.
Looking Ahead
We are excited about our partnership with Veteranka and bringing more of their stories from the frontlines directly to you.
Most importantly, we remain committed to ensuring that women in military and emergency services have the right support, so they can focus on their mission without being held back by inadequate gear.
